Boone County Commission Amends Senior Real Estate Tax Relief Program Policy
The Boone County Commission is announcing an amendment to the Boone County Senior Real Estate Tax Relief Program policy, removing the requirement for annual renewal. The amendment will go before Commission for a first reading on Thursday, March 5 at 1:30 p.m. at the regular Commission meeting held in the Boone County Government Center Commission Chambers located at 801 E. Walnut in Columbia.

Annual Statewide Tornado Drill on March 4th, 2026, as Part of Severe Weather Preparedness Week
The National Weather Service and Missouri State Emergency Management Agency have designated March 2 – 6, 2026, as Severe Weather Preparedness Week. BCOEM will be participating in the Annual Statewide Tornado Drill being held at 11 a.m. on March 4, weather permitting. During this drill, NOAA Weather Radios will be activated and the outdoor warning sirens in Boone County will sound.

Boone County, in partnership with the City of Columbia and the University of Missouri-Columbia, is proud to announce the winners of the 2026 Earth Day Art Contest. The inaugural contest invited students from kindergarten through 12th grade to explore creativity while reflecting on the natural world around them.
