Responsibilities:

Purchases and performs other functions related to the purchase of supplies, materials, equipment, and services for Boone County Government.

Status: 

Full-time, exempt, benefited

Working hours: 

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday

Qualifications: 

Buyer Qualifications: Associate's degree with two years of purchasing experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to type a minimum of 50 wpm and familiarity with computer software programs. Prefer Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, public administration or related field with two years public sector purchasing experience. Certification as either a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), a Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or NIGP- Certified Procurement Professional (NIGP-CPP) or completion of certification within five years of hire.
Buyer Salary Range: $53,955 - $55,577

Senior Buyer Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, public administration with three years' public purchasing experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to type a minimum of 50 wpm and familiarity with computer software programs. Prefer five years of public purchasing experience and certification as either a Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or NIGP Certified Procurement Professional (NIGP-CPP) or completion of certification within three years of hire.
Senior Buyer Salary Range: $58,260 - $60,006

Starting Salary Range: 

Buyer $53,955 - $55,577 OR Senior Buyer $58,260 - $60,006
